Each year, Newton Cantonese School proudly celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year with a vibrant and festive cultural event that brings together families and the school community. This joyful occasion honors Cantonese traditions, strengthens cultural connections, and welcomes the new year with pride, unity, and wishes for luck and good fortune.

The celebration features traditional lion dancing, martial arts demonstrations, a children’s parade, dance performances, traditional music, Chinese lanterns, artwork, and calligraphy displays, as well as student presentations including songs, poems, storytelling, skits, and New Year greetings. Students are proud to showcase their Cantonese language skills, cultural knowledge, and traditional costumes through these performances.

This special event is for our school community and invited guests, and we look forward to sharing the joy and rich traditions of the Cantonese culture with everyone who joins us.

每年，Newton Cantonese School 自豪地舉辦熱鬧喜慶的農曆新年文化活動，凝聚家庭與學校社群共襄盛舉。這個充滿歡樂的節日慶典，不僅弘揚粵語傳統文化，更加強文化連結，以驕傲與團結迎接新的一年，並祈願幸運與福氣常伴。

慶祝活動包括傳統舞獅、武術表演、兒童遊行、舞蹈演出、傳統音樂、中國燈籠、藝術品及書法展示，以及學生帶來的歌唱、詩詞朗誦、講故事、小品及新年祝福。學生們藉由這些表演自豪地展現他們的粵語語言能力、文化知識和傳統服飾。

這項特別活動主要面向我們的學校社群及受邀嘉賓，我們期待與所有參與者一同分享粵語文化的歡樂與豐富傳統。
